A reboot for professionals: IEM opens an Agribusiness MBA training program

On November 24, a new group of top managers of the region’s agricultural companies has started their studies under the Agribusiness MBA professional retraining program atthe Institute of Economics and Management of TSU. Among the students were representatives of Sibagro JSC, Sibirskoe Moloko LLC, Mezheninovskiy agricultural production cooperative, Krestianskiy agricultural consumer supply and sales cooperative, and other farming enterprises. This program is unique for Tomsk – it is carried out in collaboration with the Wageningen University (Netherlands), and apart from receiving a TSU diploma, graduates also receive an international MBA diploma of the European Agricultural Universities Association.

Over the course of two years students will be studying modern agribusiness solutions, economics and law, management, marketing, corporate finance, logistics, and business English, as well as learn about the Dutch “smart agriculture” experience. This new knowledge can be used to develop companies even during studies.

Lessons are taught by lecturers and experts with great practical experience. During the first module, Sergey Kuzmin, head of the Procurement Department, Legal Administration, TSU, will  tell the students about Procurement Management. Valeria Kopilevich, Financial Advisor, Assistant Professor of the Department of Finance and Accounting, IEM, will teach Pricing; while an introduction to Modern Marketing Trends will be done by Kirill Stepiko, Lead Marketing Specialist, 33 Pingvina ice cream retail chain – the biggest franchise network in Russia, according to Forbes. Irina Nikulina, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, School of Engineering Entrepreneurship, TSU, will  introduce students to Management Theory and Practice; Andrey Babenko, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Head of the Biological Institute, TSU, will teach Innovative Solutions for Agribusiness, and Mikhail Chikov, Deputy Director, IEM TSU, will teach Managerial  Economics.
