Congratulations from Evgeniya Nekhoda, the IEM Director, on the upcoming New Year

Dear students, colleagues, partners, and friends! Another year is coming to an end.

This year, our students again achieved victories in prestigious scientific contests, became winners and award winners in the International Olympiad in Economics and Management, XXII Eurasian Economic Youth Forum “Russia and the Regions of the World: Implementing Ideas and Opportunities”, Regional Olympiad in Macroeconomics among the universities of the Siberian Federal District. Our students are the winners of scholarships, grants of Vladimir Potanin Foundation, as well as the winners of the “Student of the Year” competition.

In 2022, our students completed their entrepreneurial practice in the TechnoSpark company as part of the #startupasdiploma program and opened the Entrepreneurship School.  They won the Cup of the Imperial University and became first among the Tomsk universities in The Best Union Bureau competition, took first place in the STUDmarathon festival. Our students’ projects won in grant competitions by Rosmolodezh, in the Student Startup competition by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Innovation Assistance Foundation; our students took first place (together with the Institute of Law) in the All-Russian Hackathon in digital economics, and were taking prize places in sports competitions throughout the year.

We became organizers of the Modern Trends of Economics and Management Education international forum (more than 120 participants, including scientists and experts from Italy, Belorussia, Uzbekistan). Our lecturers successfully defended their doctoral (Olga Belomytseva and Maria German) and candidate (Tatyana Kuklina) dissertations. And Dmitri Khloptsov and Olga Belomytseva’s expert report on Utair case upended the arbitrage practice in Russia. Our lecturers won in the Priority-2030 project competition:

1. the Institute of Digital Human Defender as New Element of Digital Society. Head – Marina Ryzhkova

2. Sustainable development of territories: the imperative of integration of economic, social, and ecological tasks. Head – Irina Gammershmidt.

3. Training of “new entrepreneurs” for creating and implementing startup projects.

As part of the Priority-2030 program, IEM lecturers became staff members of the Laboratory of Human Psychological and Financial Security (Marina Ryzhkova, Mikhail Chikov).

Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Center organized many events on the institute, university, all-Russian, and international levels, more than 10000 people and 100 partners participated in them. The Institute launched the new project called Path to Success. Center for Entrepreneurship implemented the Ptatform for Universiry Technological Entrepreneurship federal project (trainings on entrepreneurial competencies and the Biomedtech and New Materials acceleration program).

We continue to participate in the Promotion of Employment federal project (5 programs implemented, more than 250 people undergone training, covered 8 federal districts and 44 regions, business representatives were involved in the  training process), continue to conduct Business and Management parallel training program and Management in Healthcare network program; launched new further education programs.

We still have a lot of work to do, continuing what we started and implementing what we planned in research, expert evaluation, and education programs!
