EM 2025 Graduates — about their alma mater, future plans, and words of advice for prospective students
Artyom Lugansky:
"Over these four years at the Institute, I have developed patience, self-confidence, and determination, as well as gained the skills essential for my field — Financial Economics: bookkeeping, working with financial products, and explaining them to others.
To prospective students considering IEM, I would say: don’t be afraid of anything, take calculated risks, and steadily pursue your goals until you achieve them.
I’m currently planning to apply for a Master’s program while starting my professional career.I’m already considering job offers and feel ready to work as a specialist and aim higher".
Sonya Lugovskaya:
"I graduated in Business Analytics, and of course, the university has given me a lot — education, a career start, and all the necessary competencies, both hard and soft skills. But for me, the most important thing has been the people. That’s what I value most.
To future students, I want to say: don’t be afraid to try, because this is your path, and how you walk it is what really matters.
As for my future plans, I want to keep studying further, because in today’s world, lifelong learning is essential. I plan to keep developing, perhaps in this field, perhaps in another — strengthening myself both as a professional and a person".
Andrey Zavodov:
"I graduated with a degree in Economics. What was the most important thing I took away fr om my time here? For me, it was learning how to find myself. I enrolled in Economics but realized that I’m more drawn to technical skills, so I plan to continue my studies in a technical field.
My advice to prospective students: the main thing is to try different things, explore, and find the area that truly inspires you. The university offers plenty of opportunities to do that. I took English courses, campus-based courses, and even joined the ‘Digital Departments’ program to dive into data analytics. Overall, TSU and IEM helped me discover my true path.During my studies, I also completed internships and worked part-time.
Now, I hold a position as a machine learning developer at the TSU laboratory. My next step is a technical Master’s program: I plan to study AI management".
Anna Norkina:
"Probably the most important thing I learned during my years at TSU was to believe in myself, my strengths, and my abilities. The university gave me incredible experiences across various fields and a wealth of knowledge and skills.
My advice to prospective students is to seize every opportunity the Institute offers, both in academics and extracurriculars. There really are a lot of them, and everyone can find something that resonates with them and helps unlock their full potential.
As for my plans, I aim to enroll in a Master’s program and, at the same time, continue growing my own business".
Artyom Vyalyov:
"I completed a Master’s degree in Management. Over the years at university, the most valuable thing I learned was how to search for information and build new connections. University is a place where many people come together, and it’s crucial to maintain those connections and always know whom to turn to for advice or help.
To prospective students, I would say: always try new things, live in ways you haven’t before, and never fear making mistakes. Use every opportunity to the fullest.
Right now, I’m looking for a suitable job and planning to start my career. I’ve already gained professional experience during both my Bachelor’s and Master’s studies, and I’ll strive to apply all the knowledge I’ve acquired at university and through internships to secure a good position and continue growing in the field of management".
Anna Leushkina:
"I graduated with a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management fr om the Institute of Economics and Management.
During my Master’s and throughout my university years I learned how to balance work and study, because a Master’s degree is already a step into an adult life. The most important thing for those who plan to continue into a Master’s program after their Bachelor’s is learning how to juggle multiple responsibilities at once.
Communication skills are also crucial, with professors and classmates alike. Mutual support is very important: when someone struggles to keep up with the workload, you help each other.
To those considering a Master’s, I would say: be brave and don’t fear the challenges ahead. There will always be people willing to support you. It’s never easy, especially in the workplace. This is your first small step into adult life".
Dmitry Derevyagin:
"Speaking of the academic side of university, the key thing I learned is that every problem has a solution — the real challenge lies in finding and properly defining the problem itself.
The university also surrounded me with intelligent, talented, interesting, and kind people; it gave me unforgettable emotions, life experience, and the sense that finding your place in the world isn’t as hard as it seems. Overall, the university offers plenty of value even to those who aren’t actively seeking it, and even more to those who know what they want to get fr om it.
IEM TSU is a place wh ere professors are passionate about their work and always ready to help, a place wh ere you can find true and loyal friends, and a place where you can develop valuable professional skills. To prospective students, I wish courage in facing challenges and determination in achieving your goals and dreams and, of course, easy exam questions every semester!
At the moment, I am planning to pursue a Master’s degree as I have life goals that require deeper knowledge. I don’t want to stray far from such terms as "business" and "analytics", I truly enjoy them, and they’re close to my heart".
