How to work with generative AI in GiGaChat. SBER speaker advised IEM students

The Vice Director of Tomsk Branch 8616 of Sberbank Vyacheslav Sysolyatin told the students about particularities of the GiGaChat with the generative AI and invited them to join the free course Working with LLM GigaChat.

Today, SBER alongside the traditional banking products is developing new approaches and technologies among which is AI. It is a top priority because it is actively implemented in our devices, Vyacheslav told the students. Researching of this phenomenon started about three years ago. For example, when you make a request trough, say, Gosuslugi, you use AI.

As the expert mentioned, there are definitions of the AI and the generative AI and we must not confuse them. They are like medicine as a whole and ophthalmology as a separate field. The generative AI (or LLM Large Language Model) is considered the next generation of AI. Unlike the traditional AI, LLM creates something new with the given information. It can create original content whether it is a text, picture, music or software code. Depending on the given task we can obtain lots of variations. Vyacheslav also mentioned that it was not necessary to be an IT specialist to work with LLM models.

The Deputy Director talked about current tasks for LLM. Among them are:

·      Execution of the instruction (e.g., rewriting a text in more formal way, creating a letter for an advertisement campaign, answering a request).

·      Data analysis (e.g., analyzing a text).

·      Normalization of information.

·      Working with texts (e.g., making a list of FAQs, determining main trends of a company).

The students tried to create a text request using GigaChat bot in Telegram and get answers for their questions.

The speaker also shared the information about the free online course “Working with LLM GigaChat” by SBER and SBERUniversity. The course teaches the students using GigaChat in their projects in science, business and arts.

There are other free courses: “Generative Art” for working with popular AI services and “Generation of Video” for creating video content.
