IEM Academic Council on March 25th 2025

At the beginning of the Academic Counsil on March 27 IEM Director Evgenia Nekhoda briefly presented the results of IEM Center of Public Affairs activities. She mentioned that since January 2025 the Center has been headed by Yana Pchelintseva, and also a new manager was represented – IEM student Maria Gasparyan.  

Three years ago, a lending for applicants was created which continues its work: the data is being updated and the design is being changed. One of the important steps this year is the lending’s creation with information about all IEM academic programs for the applicants.  It will keep the school graduates well informed. The page VKontakte for the applicants is also still active, so one can ask members of the Admissions Office questions regarding entering IEM TSU.  

Currently there is four media platforms of IEM TSU: website, VKonakte, Telegram and Youtube channels. The most active is the Telegram channel it is an actual source of the news about IEM for students and members of the Institute.

The matter of election of two departments’ heads: Dmiriy Hloptsov (Department of Economics) and Alexander Bogdanov (Department of IT and Business Analytics) also became an important part of the Council.

Dmitriy Mikhailovich and Alexander Leonidovich presented the current situations in the departments. They told brief history of the departments their strengths and weaknesses. The members of the Academic Counsil supported the candidates during the vote.

The Conference “Economics Through the Eyes of Young” was also discussed alongside with forthcoming anniversary: in 2026 will be 10 years since the establishment of The Institute of Economics and Management.
