IEM Assistant Professor Olga Belomytceva presented a report on interaction between economics and law on an international legal forum

Olga Belomytceva, IEM Assistant Professor, participated in the IV International Legal Forum “Law and Economics: National Experience and Development Strategies”. It was organized by Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management (NSUEM). More than 500 scientists, law enforcement officials, corporate lawyers from Russia, Belarus, Italy, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other countries took part in the forum. For the first time, the Medical Law section was also working.
Most of the participants’ interest was directed at the section “Combating economic crime: legal, procedural and criminalistic problems”. Here, IEM Department of Finance and Accounting assistant professor Olga Belomytceva presented a report “Interaction between law and economics: production and standardization of forensic economical examinations”.

“My report concerns the issue of standardization of forensic economical examinations, which is relevant not only for RF, but other countries as well,” Olga Belomytceva tells. “The forum enables to establish contacts with the law enforcement officials that perform forensic economical examinations during investigation of economic crimes. Interacting with fellow lawyers is always fruitful, because it allows to look at economic issues from other points of view.
The topic of interaction between law and economics is a perspective scientific, as well as practical field. The IEM has a joint refresher program with the TSU Institute of Law on "Theory and Practice of Forensic Examination".
“Our course aims to develop and improve professional knowledge in the field of forensic science on the examination procedures, the rights and obligations of the forensic expert, the preparation of conclusion, its defense and participation in court proceedings," says Olga Belomytceva, who is a director of this program at the IEM. “Right now, students can enroll for training from 14 to 21 June.”
