Two of them - Margarita Kudryavtseva and Alexander Chyo are IEM Master’s students. From February 2024 to the graduation, they will have been paid 25000 rubles per month.
The Grant Competitions is the oldest project of the Foundation for higher education support. It has been carried out since 2000 and has undergone several transformations. But the general goal is still the same – support of the most talented, active and involved students of Russian universities and help them to contribute to the development of society.
Tomsk State University is within top-10 universities – participants of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation Grant Competition.
As the General Director of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation Oksana Oracheva mentioned, this year has brought some changes into the The Grant Competition. One of the sound topics is the use of AI. It is being widely discussed nowadays particularly in academic community: rules of AI use are being developed along with identification of etic limits, the tools for detection of AI generated texts are being created.
We have decided to let the students use the AI for applications. In such cases the applicant had to inform us on the fact (of AI use) and agree for individual interview. As a result, 17 people used that option, usually from technical specialties connected with informatics, robotics and computers, Oksana Oracheva says.
