IEM Professor took part in international real estate conference in Ankara

IEM Professor, Doctor of Economics Nikolay Volovich took part in the 4th International Conference on Real Estate Development and Management (ICREDM2025) which was held by Ankara University (Turkey) on February 3-5

ICREDM2025 became the platform for sharing experiences and discussing matters of real estate development, its perspectives and regulations. Representatives of more than 40 states took part in the conference. Nikolalay Vladimirovich being a member of European Land Use Academy is included in the organizing committee of this prestigious conference.

Professor’s Volovich report related to the matters of real estate taxation based on its cadastral value comparing European and Central Asia approaches.

It's a debatable issue, the professor mentions. Why each country in Europe has its own approach to the real estate when the market is actually common? Each country has its own system of regulations including the taxes. In Central Asia the situation is opposite, recently there used to be a single system, when nowadays the taxation systems of the region’s states are heading in opposite directions despite shared culture, religion and History. In the report I shared my assumptions on that matter.
