The second year IEM student Maxim Burtovoy has won the competition “The Big Break” and he is going to Saint-Petersburg and Karelia on September 15. Maxim is sure that it will let him to know the country better which in its turn will help in his future business.

During the final stage of the competition Maxim visited “Artek” where he took part in case analysis and participated in the meeting with the Kremlin Vice Chief of Staff Sergey Kirienko. During the meeting students introduced ideas for the further development of the projects “The Big Break” and “More Than a Trip” (a train tour from Moscow to Vladivostok for the winners). Maxim offered to promote the competition among pupils and carry out the events in schools and colleges.

I am fascinated with matters of promotion, Maxim tells. I already have some ideas for my future projects during the study at IEM. I am originally from Bishkek and entered TSU as a foreign student. I am interested in promoting the Tomsk Region and TSU in other countries.

Maxim leads an active student life, he participates in different platforms (Unovus, Fest System and others), works as a volunteer.

During the upcoming trip the students will learn the history of Saint-Petersburg and Carelia, the particularities, culture and nature.

I am interested in history and entered TSU as a winner of an academic competition in history, Maxim says. I think, that learning the country’s culture and history will expand my perspective and help me with my future business.
