IEM students are among winners of All-Russian Entrepreneur Case Competition
Three IEM students of Management Program became winners of the 5th All-Russian Entrepreneur Case Competition MIR. The final event took place in Moscow on November 27-29: the participants presented their projects to the experts: businessmen and case authors.
The case competition included two stages. The first one was conducted online, the participants were solving one out of ten cases offered by the real companies working in Russia. IEM students were working with the case fr om Tomsk medical massage clinic “On the Touch”. All the masseurs in the clinic are visually impaired people.
We faced the task to develop parameters for a franchise, one of the participants tells. We spent several weeks studying the best franchise practices, the massage sphere as a whole and matters of disabled people employment. As a result of elimination round 60 best participants were chosen out of 3500, including us.
The second stage was carried out offline. On the first day the participants visited the Higher School of Economics for the guided tour and a lecture on event marketing. The next day was at “Tochka Kipenya” of MISIS wh ere the projects defense and helpful lectures by business and education fields representatives took place: among them Rostelecom, Vkusno I Tochka, Aquarius, YouChip and other.
The students presented their case solving in two sections: social business and traditional business. The IEM students participated in the social business section along with 16 other teams and individual participants. As a result, Tomsk students were among the winners of Case Competition.
After the competition students took part in the team building game Lego Serious Play under the supervision of business couch Dmitriy Cheremisin. The participants discussed their possible future.
The award and closing ceremonies of the Case Competition took place the next day at TASS Information Agency.
