The IEM students participated and made the podium at the International Student Academic Competition “Economics and Management - 2024” (Saint Petersburg State University of Economics). The competition took place at the Saint Petersburg State University of Economics on October 14-18.

Students from all over Russia took part in the competition.

Students and I were excited and emotional about the competition, the team leader, IEM Associate Professor Natalya Izotkina shares. It was the first time for me as a team leader for such event and I was trying to interact with the students to create positive environment within the team.

The students brilliantly manifested themselves during the first and second rounds of the section of the competition named “Positioning Leadership of Logistics”. IEM student Ilya Koveshnikov took the first place in testing and case-solving while Vasiliy Polikov’s team won a diploma in the second round.

Natalya Izotkina: “This year we participated in one of the competition sections and for the whole week the students had to be constantly involved in the process. In the second round a team was created which consisted of students from different universities. The participants had to show their knowledge and leadership abilities. We all were excited and had desire to win. I am proud of the students and congratulate them!”

IEM management student, Vasily Polikov: “During the competition I applied my theoretical knowledge to solve interesting cases presented by the Russian Railways. The experience of working with the students from different universities came very valuable and facilitated the exchange of ideas and teamwork. The competition helped me to realize the importance of constant self-development. I want to address our students: participation in such competitions will give you great opportunities to show your skills”.
