Kseniya Zaikova, a 1st year master student in International Management at IEM, took 2nd place in the testing at the Marketing section and 2nd place in the Business Game at the Marketing section.

The academic supervisors of the students were Inna Krakovetskaya, Professor of the Department of Strategic Management and Marketing, Doctor of Economic Science, and Natalia Redchikova, Associate Professor of the Department of Strategic Management and Marketing, Candidate of Economic Sciences.

“The M. Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology is a flagship university of the region, a center of competences in engineering and technical education, a driver of the territory development," Inna Krakovetskaya commented. “To participate in the Olympiad of such a university is a great honor for us. Big thanks to the organizers of the Olympiad! This year our students showed high results again. We would like to thank them wholeheartedly and wish them further success!”

“This is the third year we are participating in the Olympiad. Previously it was an initiative of 1-2 people, but this year four students responded, and we were able to send two teams,” says Natalia Redchikova. “It was great that the students were already prepared, and we were all in sync together. Our task was to prepare the theses for the finals with the students, and then they fought on their own. With our joint efforts, we got good results in both sections.”

Andrey Smirnov, Master student in Business Analytics, 1st year:

“The Olympiad consisted of three stages, the first was a competition of research articles, the second was an online test. The questions were mostly theoretical in nature. Passing the stage depended on the student's preparedness and quick thinking. The third stage was the case solving. The case has an applied nature. In my opinion, this is the most interesting stage. The Olympiad was organized very well: you could get the feedback on any question in a few minutes.”

Ivan Makarov, Master student in Finance and Credit in Organizations, 1st year.

“This is the first time I have participated in the Olympiad. It was interesting to try my hand at it, it gave me new impressions and experience as wall as strengthened my skills – for example. case studies taught me to think logically, out of the box. If I get such an opportunity, I will take part next year as well and recommend it to my university friends.”

Polina Gorina, Master student in Finance and Accounting in Organizations, 1st year.

“The Olympiad format itself seemed to me quite interesting and new, because in addition to the management testing and case solving, our team had the opportunity to write an academic article, which won the 2nd place. Undoubtedly, it is a great experience, and each time I worry as if it is the first, because you never know what kind of case you will get. The opportunity to participate in such events is something to remember for many years. I will gladly participate in this Olympiad next year as well.”

Alina Lopatina, Master student in HR Management, 1st year.

“I would like to say that the format is absolutely different from other olympiads: for the first time I met writing an article as a sort of a stage in an olympiad. The content of the Olympiad is worth the highest grade, because it is possible not only to estimate your knowledge of management subjects, but also to demonstrate organizational and leadership qualities in teamwork. The case presented at the Olympiad was interesting, because all information in it is a real situation, which needs a solution, creative ideas and suggestions. I was happy with it, and think I will definitely take part again next year!”

Kseniya Zaikova, Master student in International Management, 1st year.

“I was happy that during the evaluation of case decisions the representatives of the company were involved. They could share their experiences, solutions that they had already tried and implemented. The experience of a real company helps to evaluate your knowledge and skills in practice, within the budget limits of and realistic deadlines that appear during work – this makes this case and experience very valuable. According to the results of the Olympiad, we took second place. I think that next year we will participate again to achieve even better results.”

We congratulate our students and wish them good luck and new discoveries!
