IEM TSU Master’s Student Spends a Second Semester in a row in China

Georgiy Gorenintsev, a student of the Master’s program in International Management, has just returned fr om Jilin University, wh ere he spent the spring semester as part of IEM’s international academic mobility program.

Recently, Georgiy won a scholarship from the Confucius Institute and has now traveled to Shenyang Institute of Technology for language courses. Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning Province in northeast China, is a major, well-developed city with a long and rich history.

The Confucius Institute allows students to choose the host university and the length of study — either six months or a year. Winners of the competition have their tuition and accommodation covered, along with a monthly stipend.

“I chose a course focused on preparing for the international Chinese language exam — in my case, HSK 5. However, once I arrived, I decided to transfer to a higher-level group than the one I was initially assigned to. Now, in addition to the regular curriculum, I am also taking a business Chinese course,” said Georgiy Gorenintsev.

His studies will last one semester, from September 1 to the end of December. The program includes Chinese language, as well as courses on Chinese history and geography. According to Georgy, classes take place every weekday, with three sessions per day.
