Professional Development Program for "Polyus" Research and Production Center Employees Launches at IEM

On September 9th, the "Production Management" professional development program for employees of the "Polyus" Research and Production Center commenced at the Institute of Economics and Management (IEM) of Tomsk State University (TSU). It's a joint program by the Institute of Economics and Management and the Institute of Distance Education of TSU.

The first session was dedicated to participant introductions, after which Svetlana Litvina, Associate Professor of the Department of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management at IEM, spoke about the specifics of managing human resources at a manufacturing enterprise. The classes are conducted in an interactive format, enabling participants to immediately learn how to apply new knowledge in practice.

The "Production Management" educational program aims to train specialists capable of effectively managing production processes in modern conditions. Participants will master the fundamentals of strategic and operational management of a production organization, taking into account factors of uncertainty. They will study key planning algorithms, which will allow them to actively participate in optimizing production processes, considering the specific features of their enterprise.

Furthermore, participants will learn to form and effectively manage cross-functional teams, fostering the growth and development of both employees and the company as a whole. The program will provide them with an understanding of lean manufacturing principles, and they will master tools for value stream mapping and production process optimization. As a result, graduates will be able to enhance the efficiency and productivity of their production divisions and the company overall.

The program instructors are IEM faculty members: Liliya Tukhvatulina, Associate Professor of the Department of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, a certified lean trainer; Svetlana Litvina, Associate Professor of the Department of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, an independent expert for the assessment and training of managerial personnel for the Tomsk Region Administration; Lyudmila Tkachenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Accounting, President of the Tomsk Institute of Professional Accountants and Auditors; and Alexander Shalygin, Associate Professor of the Department of Strategic Management and Marketing.

The professional development program includes over 20 sessions, as well as the completion and defense of a final certification project. Several meetings with IEM experts will be held on the premises of the "Polyus" Research and Production Center. Upon successful completion of the program, all certified participants will receive a standard qualification upgrade certificate.

IEM TSU continues to actively collaborate with companies on the development and implementation of corporate training programs.
