Start of the Winter Online International Management School
The Winter Online International Management School (in English) started on January 20. Annually the event unites scientists, experts in the field and government officials, helps discuss different matters and find effective solutions.
It’s the fifth time IEM TSU arranges the Winter School. To participate in master classes and discussions more than 500 people from different countries have checked in. Each year both the number of participants and their geography expand. This year the School is hosting participants from Indonesia, Egypt, UAE, India, Pakistan, China, Turkey, Brazil, Iran, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Ghana and other African countries.
In the School’s program there are workshops in English with students participating in discussions. Up to 150 people work simultaneously. The majority of foreign students watch records of the translations due to the time difference. Everyday all the participants fill in feedback forms, and after finishing the School they will receive certificates for applying to IEM TSU Post Graduate Program “International Management”.
On the first day the students acquainted with Toms State University and Institute of Economics and Management, they were greeted by the Vice-Rector for International Affairs Artyom Rykun and IEM Director Evgenia Nekhoda. After a brief virtual university campus tour the “International Management” Program graduates told how the master diplomas helped them with the careers. Then the immediate educational part of the School began: the first workshop was carried out by IEM Associate Professor Irina Pavlova, she talked about global marketing of consumer goods. The participants gave the examples and cases from their countries.
The interest to our school is growing each year, partially it’s due to the growing interest to Russia, but our program is not strongly limited by our country’s specifics of course. We discuss management matters that are topical across the world. It is very good that our students actively participate in discussions ant share the experiences from their countries. It is very interesting when we find proofs for our theories from the people with real experience, Olga Nedospasova, the Head of the IEM TSU Master’s Program “International Management” says.
The key event of the School is the «Insight Circle: Navigating International Management Challenges» roundtable with participation of international experts takes place on Thursday January 23. The experts from Russia, Belarus and Pakistan will discuss sound matters of global management. The School finishes its work on January 24.
