Students from different countries took part in IEM Academic Competition “Act Responsibly”

IEM TSU held The V All-Russian Student Academic Competition with international participation “Entrepreneurship and Management” with the motto “Act Responsibly”.  On March 3-6 students from Russia, Belorussia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were demonstrating their knowledge and skills in the field of entrepreneurship, management and steady development.

This year the competition gathered more than 100 participants from the leading universities of Tomsk, Krasnoyarsk, Ekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk and also from Belorussia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

There were three stages of the competition

·         1st stage included individual testing in the management, entrepreneurship, steady development (ESG principles, responsible consumption and production).

·         2nd stage was dedicated to making a video on the topic named “My Responsible Practice”. The participants presented their own experience of responsible consumption: separate waste collection and recycling, healthy lifestyle, responsible fashion, steady transportation, tourism and investment.

·         3rd stage was directed towards students’ skills of systemic and analytical thinking during situation analysis in the field of entrepreneurship. The students solved a case presented by ‘SAVA’ company.

The tasks were complicated demanding from us not only theoretical knowledge but also creative approach and teamwork. Special attention should be paid to the case task. SAVA company offered us to develop a strategy for a product promotion. We learnt the market and suggested a plan including market strategies which could increase the company effectiveness on the market. It was not only a chance to test our knowledge but also an opportunity to learn something new, one of the participants, IEM student Sofya Cheban says.

The Competition was highly praised by international experts. The Head of Economics Department of Kimyo Tashkent International University (Samarkand Branch) Nargiza Muradova noted the high level of organization of the event and expressed wishes for further cooperation in the field of education. Deputy Dean of Astana International University School of Economics Bolat Baltabaev said that the Competition gave the students a unique opportunity to show their knowledge and improve professional skills.
